Rough week

I’ve been off from work for the majority of this week due to some issue that came up Sunday. My abdomen was killing me and I left work early Monday and Wednesday. I went to the hospital after I picked Jenn up from work on Monday. I guess I need to change my diet since the on-call doctor looked at my x-ray and said I was “completely full”. I was forced to take Tuesday off after they gave me a bottle of magnesium citrate. Oi.

I think I’m ready for this Fall semester of school and have signed up for two classes this time. It’s getting down to the final classes and I’m almost done with my associates. Next I need to focus on my major. I’ve been looking more into a Computer Science / Software Engineering degree from FIT. I have to set some time aside next week to speak to an admissions counselor. What I really need to do is look into switching my general AA into a AS in Computer Programming although I’ve finished a majority of this AA.

The Results Are In!

I had my CT scan performed last Wednesday and I’m surprisingly healthy. The EKG showed a healthy heart, X-ray showed nothing abnormal, bloodwork was normal and the CT scan showed no sign of tumor or anything close to it. A “hypno-therapist” was recommended to me to help me control the symptoms of anxiety/stress that I’ve been getting. I don’t know how soon I’ll jump on that train but since the lay-offs are over, hopefully, my panic attacks have subsided. I still get the occasional racing heart but the disturbing head pulses are gone.

Nerd Rage

I’m getting back into the swing of things in the programming world. All of the time I spent programming is coming back to me and I miss the time I spent debugging my own software. My programmer’s mind is wanting to take over some projects at work and speed things up. I’m seeing discrepancies between multiple databases and I’ve already thought of ways of bringing the data together to reduce over-processing of the data I produce. I’ve also thought of ways to improve the current database that I use daily but the programmer in charge just doesn’t have enough time to take care of it.

This past Friday I saw my doctor to go over some things that have been bothering me lately. The night before I had some sort of attack that left me feeling very uncomfortable. I’ve been having random spasms (ie, eye twitch, jaw clenching) and a pressure sensation in my head. I’ve also had random chest pain and a “racing heart” feeling followed by a deep breath.  He put it all together as symptoms of anxiety/stress. I haven’t been mentally stressed over much other than the layoffs so I didn’t put much thought into it being solely from that. The things I’ve been experiencing have been from my body’s reaction to an over-production of a type of hormone from stress that has no way of manifesting itself normally. Well I had an EKG, X-Ray on my chest, blood work done and I’m in the process of getting a CT scan scheduled to see if there is something unusual going on upstairs.
