Future state

I’ve been thinking about some ideas for my site/blog recently. With the layoffs at work coming up, I might look into offering a PC repair service for a fee (finally). I’d use either this domain or another one that I purchased as the portal. Another idea was to use one of the domains as my personal website, with my blog/twitter, social networking links, PC support, and whatever else I can think of. I just don’t know which content management system will be the best. Also, I’ve been using twitter more often then my blog and I’m not sure what to do. I know a lot of people use twitter for “micro-blogging” in between their actual blogs, but mine would just be am accumulation of the tweets.

Twitter

I’m trying out Twitter after hearing TWiT talk about it for over a year now. Its very simple and I’m trying to find out some uses for it. I’m only a few days in and have somehow attracted some followers. It’ll probably become my outlet for work updates in regards to the “reduction in force”. This year is shaping up to be awfully depressing.

Aftermath

I’m very excited over the outcome of this election. Congratulations Barrack! As much as the word “change” has been used recently, I’m somewhat shocked to see the Proposition 8 in California being passed.

Change has come to my site as well. I’ve moved the main focus of the domain to my blog instead of the support forum. It has been slow for me and everyone seems to be ok so for now I guess I’ll leave it under http://support.psykad.com/.

I spent the past week taking care of my own pc problems. It started off with my desktop computer not wanting to boot. I did some troubleshooting on the power supply and found all of the voltages to be fine, at or within tolerance. So I took everything out and had nothing but the CPU and motherboard running. At this point I was nervous about which of the two components were dead. I took the CPU out and the mobo didn’t POST. That leaves the motherboard, the first defective piece out of my homebrew machine. Luckily, I have my laptop and was able to get a RMA in place to send the defective mobo back. Now if I can just make it to FedEx and get it out…
